Ancient Roman City of Jerash
Day 1 - Thursday - Jerash /Amman
Departure from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to the border. After border crossing procedures enter to Jordan and proceed to Jerash - city of the Decapolis-located about 45 km north of Amman in the fertile heights of the Gilead. Visit the ancient Roman city with colonnaded streets, the baths and the hill top temple. Then drive to Amman. After a short orientation tour viewing the various landmarks of the city drive
to the hotel for check in. Overnight: Amman
Day 2 - Friday - Madaba / Mount Nebo / Shobak - Petra
After breakfast drive to Madaba to see the ancient mosaic map of the Holyland & ruins of historical sites. Continue about 10Km, to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land. Enjoy a panoramic view towards the Jordan Valley, Jericho and the Dead Sea. Visit the remains of the Byzantine church with a mosaic floor. Proceed via the Crusader castle - Shobak, to Wadi Mussa - the modern village of Petra. Overnight: Petra
Day 3 - Saturday - Petra / Amman
After breakfast, leave the hotel and ride on a horseback to the "Siq" (Canyon). Than on foot to Petra known as "Sela Edom" or thr Red Rock City. Petra was the ancient capital of the Nabateans from 3rd Century BC to 2nd Century AD. Visit the most interesting carved monuments such as the Treasure
(El Khazneh - a thomb of a Nabatean king) then the field of tombs, obelisks, the altar and more. Drive back to Amman. Overnight: Amman
Day 4 - Sunday - Amman / Jerusalem / Tel Aviv
After breakfast, leave the hotel and drive to the Allenby Bridge. Cross the Jordan River and drive back to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
