The Jewish Cemetery on the Mount of Olives is an incredibly important and spiritual destination you can visit during a Jewish Israel tour. According the Bible (Zech. 14:4) the resurrection will take place on the Mount of Olives once the Messiah comes, which is why so many Jews wish to be buried there. The cemetery has grown to span across the entire western and most of the southern slopes, with the earliest tombs located in Kidron Valley at the foot of the mountain. One of these tombs belongs to King David's son Absalom, one to Zechariah and the third belongs to the sons of Hezir. It is actually believed that on the End of Days that people will tunnel underground from all over the blog and rise up on the Mount of Olives. Many notoriously important individuals have been buried in the Jewish Cemetery on the Mount of Olives, making it a fascinating and popular destination for Jewish tours of Israel.
