One of Jerusalem's most sacred sites, Kidron Valley is between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives. The Mount of Olives of course has the oldest Jewish cemetery in the world, where it is believed that the dead will be resurrected after the Messiah comes. Legend tells of a wondrous bridge that will stretch across the valley at the end of time and that the righteous will travel over it as they head to the Temple Mount. There is also the Valley of Jehosafat, which is where God will judge the nations of the world (Joel 3:12). The valley is also referred to as the Vale of the King as it once brought a great deal of revenue to the king through its cultivation. If you visit Kidron Valley on your Israel tour, you will be able to see the olive trees that have recently been planted there to restore the landscape to what it was in ancient days. Kidron Valley is also the site where Zechariah's Tomb (named after a First Temple priest), the Tomb of the Songs of Hezir (a priestly family in the Second Temple era) and Absalom's Tomb can be found-some of the earliest tombs.
