Mitspe Ramon

If a quiet town with a welcoming attitude appeals to you on your trip to Israel, then Mitspe Ramon is the place. Sitting 300 meters above the edge of the Ramon Crater, the largest Negev crater, lies between mountains, cliffs, springs and paths. Mitspe, founded in 1951 has recently become quite the favorite with tourists as a result in the increased popularity of desert tourism. Growing to cater to the tourists on Israel escorted tours, Mitspe Ramon features a number of different hostels, hotels, campsites and even a Bedouin inn. Many came, bicycle and came tours start here as well. Mitspe even features activities for the adrenaline-loving visitor, who can repel down the cliffs! If you're a fan of natural wonders, the visitor center is located on the edge of the crater and allows tourists to get an amazing view of the crater below. There is a zoological garden that houses desert animals such as lizards, snakes and different mammals-an exciting stop for families with kids. Mitspa Ramon also has an alpaca farm, desert archery center and sculpture park. With its amazing views and quaint attractions, it's no wonder Mitspe Ramon is quickly becoming a favorite for tourists in the area.
