Ein Hod

If you want to experience Israel from an artistic point of view during your Israel tour, Ein Hod is the perfectly place for you. This artists' village in the middle of the Carmel Forest was established by new immigrants in 1949, becoming an artists' village in 1953 under the influence of Marcel Janco (renowned Dada artist) who encourages a group of diverse artists and craftsman to settle in the village. The village is composed of 500 residents that devote themselves to everything from jewelry-making to painting; writing to pottery. The residents support themselves with their art, workshops, educational activities and galleries. Visitors are welcome to observe many of the artists and visit most of the studios-a real treat on tours to Israel. Perhaps the most popular attraction, the Janco-Dada Museum features a continually changing exhibit of collections by Janco. Many people come to Ein Hod and find inspiration in the creativity and giftedness of its residents. Many visitors find Ein Hod's close proximity to Mount Carmel, Daliyat El-Carmel, Khof Dor-Ha-Bonim, Zikhron Ya'akov, Ancient Etsba Cave, Nakhal Kelakh and Nakhal Me'arot Reserve.
