On your pilgrimage to Israel, you may want to visit the Plain of Sharon, important because it is the region out of which Christianity sprung forth into the rest of the world. Said to be the absolute symbol of beauty by Isaiah, Sharon is a mixture of gorgeous farmland and bustling cities, though it maintains its biblical name. This site has much to tell and would be a wonderful experience during a trip to Israel. Lod (originally known as Lydda) is in the south of Sharon and it is the place where Peter healed Aeneas (Acts 9:34). The seaport in Joppa is where King Hiram sent the Cedars of Lebanon to Solomon to begin building the Temple; this is where Peter Raised Tabitha from the dead (Acts 9:36-40). Joppa is also the site where Peter has his vision on the rooftop at Simon the Tanner's house (Acts 10:9-16). This vision sent Peter to Caesarea where Cornelius became the first gentile to accept Christ. Many Christians have gone out from the ports of Caesarea. Paul also traveled to Caesarea (Acts 18:22 and 21:8), where he was imprisoned and appeared before Kin Agrippa II before leaving on a ship for Rome (Acts 25 and 26). As said in Isaiah 35:2, The Plain of Sharon is a beautiful and historically and spiritually rich area-one which should not be missed on trips to Israel.
