The Church of Nathanael

Holy Land Israel tours can really help those on them to understand and become better acquainted with some of the most prominent figures in the Bible, which is why the Church of Nathanael may be one you don't wish to miss. Cana, often known as the location of the first miracle performed by Jesus when he turned water into win, was also the home of Nathanael (John 21:2) who was one of the 12 Apostles. On the street that leads to the Franciscan-built Wedding Church sits the chapel that commemorates Nathanael's home. It is often believed that Nathanael's statement, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" (John 1:46), was his way of showing that something wonderful came out of a town no more important than his own home town. There is an inscription in Latin on the church named after Nathanael, which reminds visitors who travel to Israel that Nathanael was also referred to as Bartholomew (Matt 10:3, Mark 3:18, Luke 6:14 and Acts 1:13). Nathanael's martyrdom is depicted in a relief on the altar made of white stone.
