Monastery of Saint George

If you're interested in visiting some of the beautiful Monasteries in Israel during your tour to the Holy Land, the Monastery of Saint George is the perfect place to start. This monastery is absolutely gorgeous, built on the side of a cliff during the 6th century and having been rebuild again in the 19th century. St George is connected to many different stories that could have taken place almost anywhere in the desert, but most importantly was part of an effort to give up constant prayers for protection for the Holy City from attacks of a demonic nature. Visitors on Israel tours find it fascinating that Wadi was part of the old road to Jericho where the Samaritan story happened.

Wadi itself is part of the old road to Jericho, the true backdrop to the Samaritan story.
