Chapel of the Ascension

Though there are hundreds of churches to see on Christian Israel tours, the oldest Chapel of the Ascension is probably one of the most popular. Built like the other 2 Churches of the Ascension on the Mount of Olives, the Chapel of the Ascension is now a mosque. Its foundation dates back to the end of the 4th century during the time of Poimenia, though its structure is of crusader origins like the Holy Sepulcher.

Luke Chapter 24:50-53

50 Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. 51 While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.
