Day 1 - THURSDAY - DEPART USA TO GREECE
Day 2 - FRIDAY - ATHENS
Arrive at Athens Airport to be met and assisted by our representative. Meet your tour guide and bus driver
and transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2: SATURDAY - CORINTH - CENCHREAE - ATHENS
Drive along the picturesque Corinthian Gulf via its historic canal to Corinth (Acts 18:1-18)where the apostle Paul lived and worked and from where he sent his first and second letters to the Corinthians. Continue to Cenchreae (Acts 18:18), the ancient seaport from where the apostle Paul set sail for Ephesus. Afternoon visit of Athens (Acts 17:22-31) with the spectacular Parthenon and Mars Hill where the apostle Paul preached to the philosophers of his day. Dinner and overnight stay in Athens.
DAY 3, SUNDAY- ATHENS-DELPHI
Today takes us north to Delphi where the priestess Pythia pronounced her famous oracles in the Temple of Apollo. Visit to the theater, stadium, dinner and overnight stay in Delphi.
DAY 4, MONDAY- DELPHI- METEORA - KALAMBAKA
Continue on to spectacular Meteora with its thousand-year-old Byzantine monasteries perched precariously on huge finger-like rocks. The view from here is breathtakingly beautiful. Dinner and overnight stay in Kalambaka.
DAY 5, TUESDAY - KALAMBAKA - BEREA - THESSALONIKI
Next stop Berea (Acts 17:10) and then on to Thessaloniki (Acts 17:6) where Paul also preached and to where he sent his first and second letters to the Thessalonians. Here we see the Egnatian Road, the Galerius Arch, the Citadel and the Archaeological Museum. Dinner and overnight stay in Thessaloniki
DAY 6, WEDNESDAY - THESSALONIKI - PHILIPPI - KAVALA
We drive on our way to Philippi by the Lion statue of Amphipolis (Acts 17:1) (short stop for photos). Picturesque drive to the city of Philippi, (Acts 19:19) where Paul established the first church in Europe. Here we see the river where Lydia and possibly the jailer were baptized and the ancient Forum and jail where Paul and Silas were kept. On the return journey, we pass by the beautiful city of Neapolis (Kavala) (Acts 16:11) for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 7, THURSDAY - THESSALONIKI - ATHENS
Journey back to the capital via Tempi and also Thermopylae where Leonidas and his 300 Spartans stopped the powerful Persian army. See the statue of Leonidas and the hill where the weapons and remains of the warriors are buried. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Athens.
DAY 8, FRIDAY - PIRAEUS - MYKONOS
At 8:30 in the morning we transfer to the port of Piraeus for our 3-Day Cruise to the Greek islands and Turkey. Embarkation and sail for Mykonos at 11:00 a.m. In the afternoon (6:00 p.m.), call at Mykonos. Stroll at leisure through the whitewashed, flower-decked alleyways, climbing to the sculpture church of Paraportiani or along the waterfront of «Little Venice» to the well-known windmills. Sail for Rhodes at 10:00 p.m.
DAY 9, SATURDAY - RHODES
At 9:30 a.m. we arrive at Rhodes. In ancient times, the Colossus of Rhodes was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. This stronghold was built by a Crusading Order, which originated from Palestine. Our optional half-day excursion takes us to visit the Temple of Athena on the majestic rocky Acropolis of Lindos, with the blue Aegean Sea beneath it and the sophisticated whitewashed artists' colony at its foot. Local tradition has it, that Paul’s ship on it way to Rome, spent some time in the small harbor. We have the afternoon free in Rhodes. Stroll around the medieval walled city; enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere from one of the elegant cafes in the marina. Sail for Patmos at 6:00 p.m.
DAY 10, SUNDAY PATMOS, GREECE - KUSADASI (EPHESUS), TURKEY
At 7:00 a.m. we arrive at Patmos (Rev:1 12-21), this beautiful and almost mysterious rocky island where the apostle John was exiled and wrote the Book of Revelation. We have an optional tour: we drive up to the Monastery of St. John the Evangelist where we have a wonderful view of the island. We also visit the Grotto of the Revelation. After some free time for browsing, return to the ship and sail for Kusadasi at 10:00 a.m.
At 1:30 p.m. we dock at Kusadasi in Turkey, starting point for our optional excursion to the ancient city of Ephesus (Acts18:18-21, 24-26 & Acts 19). The Apostle Paul preached to the Ephesians and lived here for three years. This church also received an epistle from him. We tour the spectacular ruins where excavations still continue in this once great and important city, which was founded in the 10th century BC. Walk through history along marble Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian and the Theater. The Temple of Diana of the streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them the Baths of Scholastica, the Ephesians, another of the seven wonders of the ancient world, was built in this city. We return to Kusadasi for souvenir shopping before sailing for Piraeus, Greece at 6:00 p.m.
DAY 11, MONDAY - PIRAEUS, GREECE
At 7:00 a.m. arrive at Piraeus. We disembark after breakfast and transfer to Athens airport for our departure flight.
